Rob, my primary goal is to get the HCMD tasks completed before any other tasks from other projects are worked on. However, my task list gets stuffed with other projects and then an HCMD task will suddenly show up at the bottom of the list with a very short deadline.
----------------------------------------This is frustrating since my primary goal is to advance HCMD work as quickly as possible. Everything else is secondary. I want to move all short deadline HCMD2 tasks to the top of the list and stop the other tasks until the HCMD2 tasks are completed. The minute an HCMD task appears, I want everything else to be kicked down in priority until the HCMD task is completed. How can I do this? There's sort of a conflict with pushing short deadline tasks to the front and how to achieve that automatically [the client scheduler is designed to run FIFO autonomously, and not considering "but I'm the boss" foot pounders]. Increasing the fka "connect about every xxx days", in client 7 "Minimum work buffer" setting does in a way work. If I set my cache to about 2.0 days [leaving additional bufer zero], and my device is already deemed "reliable", these short deadline tasks jump to the front pretty quick. Alternately, set the buffer to 0.0 on both settings, and work is reported pretty quick, as work fetch will also be frequent. If the internet goes down, well that brings with it possible idle time.
Returning them fast is no guarantee you get more though, but does speed up quorum finding and generating offspring tasks (children/grandchildren etc]. Going back to a 5.xx client would do that much more conveniently [this looses you any work already on the client, if you are on a 7.xx client]. Then simply set the "switch between applications every xxx minutes] to a period greater than the deadline. |

You can always manually suspend the others until the HCMD tasks are running, then unsuspend. |

Bonjour,

KEEP ON CRUNCHING!! ![]() |
