Arrrgggggghhhh. Blasted second machine has fallen over, first and second looks seem to indicate that recovery is remote to very unlikely, power surge / blip. Too many bits with carbon stains. Da*m and blast, stronger words are needed but this is a polite forum. Now need Santa to be very kind.
