What a mess!
----------------------------------------This is so frustrating... I just deleted 3 app_info files and am going to try to give priority to the 6.56 wu to help clear out this mess. |

I'm doing the same thing.
----------------------------------------Frustrating is an understatement. Going from running 72 at a time to running 3 at a time is a bummer. At least I'm finding all of my "lost tasks." ![]() |

Just found 4 crunchers out of tasks. WTH is going on with the 6.56 tasks? If they would get sent to my 705 machines they would just get discarded and the machine would continue to download the 705 tasks. Now that has stopped and all the 705 machines ran dry. What changed?

Yes, for the past several hours I have zero WUs, and even switching profiles (to the regular CPU projects), nothing downloads, nothing runs. My computers are starting to think they can take the whole weekend off ...

Wingman #5 just had to be running 6.10.58. On a brighter note, the PV that initially prompted this thread has cleared. ![]() |

Just found 4 crunchers out of tasks. WTH is going on with the 6.56 tasks? I'm getting plenty of them and running them one...................at...................a...........time. My 705 machine would just discard them and continue on. Now they won't download anything. What a PITA. I wish there was a flag we could put in the cc_config file to just ignore the 656 tasks. From Kevin 1) There were two bugs in the server code that have been fixed. These specifically address issues related to resending jobs during when the workunit app version had been deprecated. Looks like the new issue started right after this fix.

The 'PV comedy of error (and no replies)' thread, the 'unexpected XML tag or syntax' thread, the 'No tasks are available...' thread. Are all the issues mentioned in those threads somehow related to the use of an app_info? Or perhaps issues made complicated by the use of an app_info? I'm not referring to the anonymous aspect of using an app_info, but to the customization aspect -- one that we crunchers use or would like to use an app_info file for.

The 'unexpected XML tag or syntax' is unusual and continues to occur at low frequency. Unfortunately, nothing gets logged on the server side so it is hard to recreate and resolve.
The PV issue and no tasks available appear to be related. The change from 656 -> 706 and the app_info.xml file appear to be interacting. We are investigating the issue further. It would be of great help to me if you are are experiencing an issue to get the numeric host id for the computer where you experienced this issue. You would find this at the start of the messages on your client and I need the one for World Community Grid. Second, if you could post the part of your messages log that covered the request in question, that would help me as well. Thanks. |
