Nano, I'm stuck

Put my 7870 in my other rig. Only installed minimal 12.11 beta drivers. I put that app_info file in the boinc folder but it doesn't recognize it. Usually see the info in the messages but doesn't seem to see it. There is no WCG folder in my boinc folder. Is it hidden?

Re: Nano, I'm stuck

Thought so. Another issue is its stuck on school profile but don't have a school profile. Somehow switched when I made the change. Went through all areas on WCG to insure there is no school profile but it doesn't want to get rid of it. Have hot update about 10 times already.

Re: Nano, I'm stuck

One of the attached projects has School set as Default [There's a tickbox for that], so even if you don't have the profile at WCG, it was pushed from somewhere.

Re: Nano, I'm stuck

Sek, I made sure there isn't any school profile at WCG. Just have home and default. Remember going through this awhile back but just can't remember how to flush it out. Am using boinc from Berkly, not from wcg.
Also, found the hidden folder and its now crunching 4. Anyone remember what the number is for 8? My other computer is down waiting for the new card so can't check that.
My main computer has boinc main drive but data on another drive. The data is not in a hidden folder on the second drive. Weird.

Re: Nano, I'm stuck

Read my lips ;): "One" of the attached projects... School does not have to exist at WCG. Any of your other projects is enforcing this and will remain to enforce this until you change it again, on any project. How to flush it is to pick a default at WCG, make some change, then save and hit update. The time stamp in the message log indicates if the save held and the profile transferred. If WCG is the only attached, and the client was a clean install... pass.

Whilst, it does not really matter what profile is used. If WCG has none, it will use the project selections from it's Default profile. Been there, done that, recently joined another project [Poem] and had the WCG default profile [home], assigned, though there was no home at the new project, so it just tried to send work per "Default". Regrettably, the projects do not x replicate, or remove properly. Think that there is lots of incompatibility floating, given the different server version I'm still seeing out and about.

To get 8 going it's 1 divvied by 8 i.e. 0.125

Re: Nano, I'm stuck

Thanks sek. Will give it a shot by having both use the same profile. Just went to look and its trying to download GFAM, which what id was doing earlier before adding this card, but it dried my cache.

Getting server errors now. The other cruncher with the new card is doing fine. I reset to default for both and deleted the other profiles.

Thanks. Had to detach from from WCG in order to get this to work. Working now after adding WCG again and adding the app file.
Whats the number to use to crunch 10? Will try the 7950 on 10 to see how it crunches.
