is there a "run next" button to manually select the next task to run? if not, i think it would be useful to have such button. i am using version 6.10.58, and this button would fit nicely under "Tasks" -> Commands. computer formulas are nice to prioritize, but sometimes human judgment is better.

There is no run next button. If there is a particular task you would like to start next, you will need to suspend all of the other waiting to run tasks and then when your chosen task is started resume (unsuspend) the suspended tasks. More trouble than it is worth for the most part. Too much babysitting.

i have over 120 tasks on my list. manually suspending and unsuspending each task is not reasonable. is a "Run Next" button difficult to add to the program?

i have over 120 tasks on my list. manually suspending and unsuspending each task is not reasonable. In BOINC Manager, select the 1st. non-running task in the list you wants to suspend, hold-in shift & ctrl and press end, and all tasks to the bottom of the list is selected. At this point select "suspend", and all selected tasks is suspended at the same time... is a "Run Next" button difficult to add to the program? Even if someone implements this and supplies the code, chances are it won't be added to the BOINC-client, since the usefulness of this functionality is minimal and the main BOINC-programmers already thinks there's too many buttons as it is. ![]() "I make so many mistakes. But then just think of all the mistakes I don't make, although I might." |

I don't know what your cache setting might be, but if you have that many tasks which you needed to abort, you may want to lower your cache setting.

You may also want to upgrade to Boinc 7.0.28. My experience has been that is much better at managing your cache than 6.10.58. |
