I have been a member of WCG since quite a few years and I really believe in the good work it does.
Recently I tried to find out / look at the results of the "DISCOVERING DENGUE DRUGS " study , since it is showing that the RESEARCH for this topic has been completed ....But I dont seem to get anywhere ...just skipping from one Page / Forum to another without landing on the correct page where I can look at the research findings or outcomes of this project , please suggest what link should I follow ? |

This project isn't over yet. It's intermittent.
----------------------------------------Check here for the results of Phase 1 upon which phase 2 is based on. You should also follow this thread for updates of phase 2. ![]() - AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W - AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W - AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz [Edit 1 times, last edit by Falconet at Nov 1, 2012 11:31:47 AM] |

Hello Kannu007,
----------------------------------------The above links get you to almost all the information. My short summary is that DDDT ran lab tests (biochemical, cellular, small animal) on all the drug candidates picked out by AutoDock in Phase 1 and found only 1 new candidate worth additional research. Phase 2 (CHARMM) is expected to produce more candidates against dengue, West Nile encephalitis and Hepatitis C. As of Feb 2012, the CHARMM algorithm was often failing to handle West Nile so they were working hard to get around this. They received a grant from IBM as a result of Watson's cash prize won on Jeopardy which will allow them to conduct lab tests on drug candidates found by CHARMM for dengue, West Nile encephalitis and Hepatitis C. This is just an aside. Some years ago DDDT scientists mentioned that CHARMM had produced a GPU version of one module of code. Unfortunately it had no relation to the module or modules that they were using. Recently CHARMM has added another GPU module but there has been no comment by the DDDT scientists so I have to assume that it is also of no use for DDDT. Sigh . . . DDDT's chief researcher, Stan Watowich, is collaborating with DSFL at University of Antioquia, MedellÃn, Colombia. He has run DDDT1 on AutoDock (which FAAH also uses) and DSFL is running on the new AutoDock Vina, as are GOFAM and SN2S. I expect there is the usual chatting about the best ways to conduct drug candidate research using these programs. Hope this helps. Lawrence Added: Only one DDDT1 drug candidate survived lab testing. URL http://www.utmb.edu/discoveringdenguedrugs-together/Project%20Status.htm 2 Feb 2012 "This conventional approach typically has a high false-negative rate, and thus not surprisingly only a single novel dengue drug lead was authenticated by laboratory testing of the best computer predictions from Phase 1. Moi, I remembered none versus Lawrence one. Just open the advanced search box and enter Autodock as search term and watowich as author and you get a grand choice of 2 posts... One of them gives the low down on Phase I
