Is it possible to check why a certain device (1817515) is getting so many WUs marked as Invalid?
----------------------------------------I've got identical GPUs running on separate PCs with the same driver, CPU, and OS. One of them (1817515) is generating Invalids at what seems to be an abnormal rate. The only difference I can see is that the one with no invalids is a dedicated cruncher. I've tried running overclocked, underclocked, and stock, and still get invalids. Based upon the details, there is no way to tell why the WUs are getting marked as invalid. Is there any way and/or willingness to tell from behind the scenes? |

Try swapping the gpu's. If the invalids follow the card, that will be a clue there is a problem with the card. If the invalids stay with the machine it narrows down the places to look for the problem. Hope this helps.

You also mention the device having invalids is the device that isn't a dedicated 24/7 cruncher. How is this system being used and how often? Do you see anything like a driver reset? Are you using a screen saver? Do you have the system set to turn off the display when idle? Do you have Aero turned on or off? All of these things can and do have effects on some machines and projects. Knowing this behavior and what card you have will benefit the trouble shooters and future readers having similar problems.

I was kind of hoping there was some flag buried deep in the results file that would give some indication.
----------------------------------------Memtest ran with no errors. I don't use a screensaver and the monitor is set for always on. I use the power button. It's used for checking email and browsing forums. The driver reset hasn't happened since I installed the 12.11 beta driver. I just disabled aero. I'll see if it makes a difference. I really don't want to be swapping cards in and out. [Edit 1 times, last edit by pirogue at Oct 29, 2012 4:04:23 PM] |

Causes:
----------------------------------------* Corrupted OpenCL driver * Corrupted Display driver * Unstable VRAM (decrease GPU memory frequency) * Unstable Core frequency (increase core voltage/decrease core frequency) * Unstable CPU/RAM (Prime95 stress test) * Not all GPUs are created equal, it's even possible the GPU isn't stable on stock frequency. No invalids for 7 hours.

Was it disabline Aero? Let us know your final results so others can try it.
