It's really nice to see WCG finally have GPU units. I have a GTX 470 graphics card along with an i7 950 @ 3.07Ghz. I'm currently running "Help Conquer Cancer" only because of a friend who is affected by cancer. Been a long time member but due to California heat, usually run only in fall/winter time.
----------------------------------------It seems to take my CPU 1.5 to 1.75 hours to complete a 6.56 Cancer unit and my GPU about 3.5 - 4 minutes to complete a 6.56 (nvidia_hcc1) unit. My question is: Can one say that the nvidia unit and the cpu unit are identical? That it takes my CPU 1.5 hours to do what my GPU can do in 3.5 minutes? Or are they separate units and not comparable? Apologies if this has been covered before, several Google searches didn't result the answer to my question. Thanks, -Paul |

Yes Paul,
----------------------------------------Both work units have similar tasks, so the GPU is much faster. |

Crystal Pellet - thank you! Good to know. Pretty amazing. Was thinking about resurrecting some old Dell workstations I had, but instead, might just buy another GPU or two.
