It's that time of year again where we on the XS WCG team do our bi-yearly Supercomputer week to try and bring as many people as possible into our quest to eradicate disease from this world.
This time we'll be running from Thursday, November1 to Wednesday,November7 inclusive but you can feel free to get started ahead of time.
This year there is a little added plus and that is WCG has now made available GPU computting on the HCC(Help Cure Cancer)
project. What would take 90 minutes to do on cpu now takes 4 mins to do on a AMD 5870 video card and even faster on the newer top cards like 7870 and 7970's. Also works just fine on nVidia cards made in the last 2-3 years.
The effect of this GPU computting has been immense in terms of output.
Any good functional PC from a P4 onward is usable in this so don't feel your machine "isn't good enough"
