What version of Boinc are you using and are you using the latest drivers?

Some users have reported problems on other BOINC projects when switching from one GPU vendor to another (Nvidia -> AMD or vice versa). You may need to completely remove the Nvidia drivers then reinstall the AMD drivers.
The last row from you log posted above that says "ATI unknown" is a clue that something is amiss with the drivers. IIRC, Driver Sweeper was recommended as a possible solution to removing old drivers. You can use your favorite search engine to find out more about removing old GPU drivers. Hope that helps, CaptainJack |

I have switched back to the NVIDIA without a problem. I have now upgraded to the latest BOINC (7.0.28). Tomorrow I will switch back to HD 6670, uninstall all the NVIDIA stuff and give it another go.......

I have had success (yay!) modifying the cc_config file with this:
<exclude_gpu> <url>http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org</url> <device_num>1</device_num> <app>hcc1</app> </exclude_gpu> I have 2 gpu's and this forces HCC to use the better one, (Nvidia GT 440) by excluding the older one. Although I still have some lag I don't get the computational errors! I'm sure some of the lag is due to the fact that the 440 is only marginally acceptable. |
