Think y'all need to report the kernel time [the time on the GPU], as a power-card in a meek computer could give substantial false impressions. A quick hit go-oogle: http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=MTEyNTI . Kernel time 150-155s, CPU time around 220s. Time as reported as elapsed in BOINC time is approximately CPU time. Do you think that with faster CPU (and same GPU) would elapsed time (which is kind of WU turnaround time) be shorter? I can also notice that there is almost a minute lost in total for initializing a work on GPU and (probably) getting the results back from GPU? |

Your CPU time would be a little faster, depending on what CPU you use. Have noticed the lost time too. Am seeing a fluctuation of total crunch time of around 30 seconds or so between GPU wu's.

Intel 2600K overclocked to 4400MHz
ATI 7950 with stock OC 900MHz/1250MHz one wu done in 1min 16sec of that time, from what I see in GPU-Z graph, GPU is active 33sec at 75-80% load |

AMD Radeon HD 7750 (880Mhz with around 90% load)
25s CPU time on startup 110 - 120 GPU time Around 70s CPU time to finish the job In total that's between 3m10s and 3m30s. CPU is a Phenom 2 X6 1090T (3.2Ghz) with only 4 threads running. |
