i'm only conscious about my temps half the time...i sit here crunching on my laptop, it's probably running ~60C....my mind figures as long as it's doing good, let it run. smile tend to pay much more attention to my desktop though.

Thanks guys. I browse PCMech from time to time. They're very understanding with complete idiots biggrin

As I said before, just looking for something simple, so onboard graphics & sound seems good smile

Re: Hardware hangout.....cases, cooling, 'clocking!!!

should be fine for your purpose. smile

better case will allow for better cooling. make sure you get retail cpu, not oem. it should come with heatsink. don't forget to get some ram as well. find out if case comes with fans, otherwise you should grab a couple of those. and some thermal paste...see the silver/white goop thread for thoughts on that.

a few easy things that need to be tossed in...hard drive, probably a cdrom drive, copy of windows(ugh...reduce costs and get linux for free...lol).

Re: Hardware hangout.....cases, cooling, 'clocking!!!

Thanks Mousie smile

CPU is retail, case comes with 120mm fan, RAM is Corsair (2 x 256MB).

HDD & CD already have.

Most expensive thing is the s/ware shock

Here's to Bill money eyes
