Is there any word on the following error?
Error: cl_khr_local_int32_base_atomics extension required by this program is not supported 15:43:20 (1080): called boinc_finish I did some research and it appears that this is due to a card not supporting OpenGL 1.1. I looked into it further and found that my card supports up to OpenGL 3.3 (With new drivers which I have). Is this an error to do with my hardware, or lack of support for the beta project? |

Sure you read OpenGL and not OpenCL?

cl_khr_local_int32_base_atomics is an OpenCL extension required by the gpu application. If you get this error it is because your GPU does not support the extension. What GPU do you have that got this error?
Thanks, armstrdj |

Hi armstrdj, while waiting for Ezrabynx reply, I would add that I got such message on a machine equipped with nVidia GF 8600 GTS. Ezrabynx's card is 8400GS ( https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewpostinthread?post=390845 )

Presumably WCG has stopped testing for the GPU on a particular machine or, for some reason, the BOINC client/server combination can no longer get/record that information.
My two machines are still running the 6.10.58 client (on WinXP SP3 in both cases) and I am now getting this error on both. One is a lappie with an NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M and the other a deskside with an NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT (both of which are correctly listed in the client's startup messages). |

Apis, my machine with the same error has Windows XP SP3 as well, so that could be a reason, maybe.

Katoda,
My gut feeling is that this is not OS related. I suspect it's got more to do with the techs "opening the floodgates" to see what happens in order to build a more accurate list of device characteristics/performance (though it might just be an oversight). I do find it frustrating that the code is dependent on a feature which is not available on early GPUS, but that's life. |

I have 2 cards, an 8400GS and a 8800 GT. Both have the same error.
According to Nvidias driver each card supports OpenGL 4.2 with GeForce 301.42 Driver. http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/44967 |

May well be, Ezrabynx, but we're talking openCl, not openGl.
In this post https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewpostinthread?post=390652 a list is reproduced of cards types and fail rates. Only see a 8800GTX, no 8400 at all. |
