----------------------------------------OS: Win 7 64b Profile: Default has Allow research to run on my CPU? set to Yes. When client sends schedule request its getting message: World Community Grid 9/5/2012 4:55:30 PM Message from server: Tasks for CPU are available, but your preferences are set to not accept them I have tried setting it to No + changing cache size and saving the profile. Then setting it to Yes + changing the cache size and saving. The message never changes. I have also tried saving it as: Standard Settings; Minimum Impact; Maximum Output; Power Saving and Custom. Same problem. My other profiles (Home, School & Work) are working correctly. Does anyone know how to get it reset to allow CPU work or if I can re-create the Default profile from one that is allowing CPU work?

I had the same problem with the default profile Bill. I too had to switch to one of the other profile settings for it to work.

Thanks. Since Default is useless at this point I'll try overlaying it with one that is working. Nothing ventured-nothing gained

You can tell for one of your 3 made profiles to become "Default", and see if a new edit of default and save turns the CPU option on again.

Tried so save with No on default and it reverted back to Yes. After, increased cache on the device that is associated to "Default" and hit update, where the timestamp bears witness the one and only change for CPU tasks No, did flip the last changed flag.
