I have one device that cannot fetch new work or report completed tasks. My other devices are not having a problem. This device has been getting the HTTP internal server error reporting completed tasks and requesting new work since 26-Aug-2012 18:12:30 UTC (~10 hrs ago). At this point it has 8 tasks "Ready to Report" and 8 cores idle.
----------------------------------------The device is on a LAN connected to the ISP via a Cisco router. Windows firewall is active and config'ed to allow WCG communication. Antivirus is MS Security Essentials and has the BOINC Data and Program folders excluded. OS is Win7 Pro 64b SP1. BOINC client version is 6.10.58. I am attached to WCG project only. I have tried restarting the client, booting the device (restart and cold), booting the router and cold starting the ISP gateway. Prior to this problem the device has been fetching, running and reporting WU's. No new software has been installed and no maintance applied. I have not detached and attached the project because I would like to save the ~64 hrs completed work. At this point I am out of ideas to correct the problem and get this PC crunching again. Compare/check the data folder/file rights/permissions particularly the projects\www.worldcommunitygrid.org and the slots. To set things right -rerun the 6.10.58 installer and choose the repair option. It wont hurt.

I'm also getting the same error, same config, on just one PC out of 4 - however, I find that if I "Suspend" the project, wait 30 seconds for the active jobs to clear then do a manual request to update that all completed tasks report and downloads do complete. I will take Rob's suggestion and re-run the 6.10.58 installer

I too have a similar error on 1 of my 6 PCs.

500 Internal Server Error is far as I know a something you cannot fix, but, this is what a web page offers in possible local actions: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerrormessage/a/500servererror.htm
Saw you posting in the similar issue thread discussing a Linux connect problem. Still Windows nor Linux show for me no issue which makes it all the more stranger. |

The other five's are running all fine (1 Windows, 1 Linux, 3 Macs), so it looks strange to me, for HTTP 500 error. Compare/check the data folder/file rights/permissions particularly the projects\www.worldcommunitygrid.org and the slots. To set things right -rerun the 6.10.58 installer and choose the repair option. It wont hurt. Thank you for the reply Rob. The problem cleared itself 27-Aug-2012 05:15:12 UTC (~11 hours after it started) with no action on my part. As suggested by kffitzgerald I had tried suspend-resume-update the project with no resolution prior to opening this thread but forgot to include it in actions taken. I have changed the OP to [Cleared] rather than [Resolved] because of the "auto-magic" clearing.
