Any thoughts? This is driving me crazy. My other two computers are working fine. This one used to work find too.
Win7 x64 Kaspersky Internet Scurity Beta test But even with KIS paused I get these errors. My Net.TCP.port sharing service had been off but I turned it on and set it to auto. Still no joy. I get the below messages for day after day. 8/19/2012 6:31:14 PM World Community Grid Requesting new tasks 8/19/2012 6:31:15 PM Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site 8/19/2012 6:31:15 PM World Community Grid Scheduler request failed: Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with known CA certificates 8/19/2012 6:31:16 PM Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down. 8/19/2012 6:32:15 PM World Community Grid Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. 8/19/2012 6:32:15 PM World Community Grid Requesting new tasks 8/19/2012 6:32:16 PM Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site 8/19/2012 6:32:16 PM World Community Grid Scheduler request failed: Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with known CA certificates 8/19/2012 6:32:17 PM Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down. |

Hello Nevada Bob,
Usually this means that the computer clock needs resetting. Here is the complete post in Start Here: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/...ead,15682_offset,0#121477 Lawrence |

Updating the clock did not fix it. I did not notice any change in the time.
I updated the ca-bundle.crt to a recent one and that did not fix anything either. |

What changed? Was KIS recently updated [not the signature files, but the software itself]. As is noted in the FAQ, if not the date [log shows fine], some security software mangle or filter the certificate data. Pausing KIS could not be enough. See that your port 80 is open, and that traffic over port 443 [https] is somehow impaired. Maybe set an exception to WCG's IP addresses and also an exclusion for the BOINC data-dir (default on W7 is C:\ProgramData\BOINC), but absent a start up message log could be the user area too [a non-service install?]
XJ7 wants more info. |
