Re: what happens after HCMD2 ?

smile Well I wondered if I was going to make it to a Sapphire level..I have 1 year 294 days into this project...but see that there are still tasks on the BOINC manager. So I'm guessing that there are remnants left to take care of and maybe I'll make it to Sapphire (?) smile

Re: what happens after HCMD2 ?

Hi Kismetix,

you can get an idea of how many more days there are left for each project in this chart maintained by SeKerob. It's only a guesstimate though.

Right now it shows about 24 days left for HCMD2.

Re: what happens after HCMD2 ?

Hello Falconet

Since Dr. Carbone just announced the end of the project today, is Sekerob's chart still relevant? She also mentioned that WCG delivered the results to Paris...so what are the remaining tasks? It sounds like everything got wound up today...although there are still work units being calculated in my BOINC Manager...

Hadn't read that post yet. Don't know what to tell you confused
I'm still getting tasks as well. Maybe something got lost in the translation and Dr. Carbone meant that WCG would help to bring the data to Paris when it was done.

Re: what happens after HCMD2 ?

Hello Falconet

Dr. Carbone's post yesterday said -

"Dear All,

We are at the end of HCMD2 and I would like to thank you for the patience and persistence in running our docking program on your machines....."

So I assume that we crossed the finish line yesterday (?)

Re: what happens after HCMD2 ?

At the end and finished have vastly different meanings. I'm going with the not fully understanding English explanation.

Re: what happens after HCMD2 ?

I am also interested in the answer from the left hand (i.e. techs). I planned to shrub (aka crunch) this sub-project by its end and to try to achieve red badge. But now I am not sure if it will last as long as it has been announced by left hand so I can continue, or do I have to leave WU's to other shrubbers...

Re: what happens after HCMD2 ?

Based on the daily flow avg of over 90K results in the last 2 weeks and what Viktors posted bout 12 days ago, we're running full tilt, the dashboard projecting 23 more days at current pace. There's not many currently active threads in this particular research forum to find the supplemental information to back this up :D

Re: what happens after HCMD2 ?

Hello kismetix,
On 9 Aug 2012, Viktors estimated that HCMD2 would end in about 5 weeks. I suspect that Dr. Carbone released a message she had composed in English a bit sooner than she had intended to because of our conversation. HCMD2 is nearly through.

Re: what happens after HCMD2 ?

Okay, sounds like she had maybe released the message a bit sooner to help some of the excitable types (i.e. me) through this process. I am more than happy to keep on crunching to the very end....I will do anything required to advance this project and help the researchers...
