I just did the uninstal and followed that tread during the install. My install looks like sec3 and not 4. Don't know why that is. whatever.
----------------------------------------I did the restart after the install and boinc opened back up and nothing. Its still asking to connect to project and login. So all that didn't change anything. edit* i just checked and seen all the files are still there so the uninstall didn't remove it.. Theres still 53 files in the x86 folder after I changed the install parth to (c:\ProgramFiles) so yes theres 2 instals cause like i said earlier my instal is blue in color and has the same layout and options as step 3 in that link you sent me. Well, something is not loading right, so maybe that system is corrupted. If boinc.exe is not running [check in task manager, with the show processes from all users], and in the service tab, right click and start service is listed and stop service is gray, your BOINC Manager cannot connect. If you did not install all users, you too might have no permission. IF the system is not corrupted, your security could have started to interfere. Look in the windows event viewer and security software logs for indications why boinc.exe is not running, if it's not running.
Eventually things could transcending to an uninstall, a wipe of Program files(x86\BOINC and C:\ProgramData\BOINC and boot, then do a clean install. |

Thats what I don't understand. Its just a crunch rig. Its been running for a long time now without any issues. all security programs have it listed as allow so no issues there. Its just one day Boinc decided it wasn't going to work anymore and disconnect itself. i've done a complete removal of the program already and removed all files left behind and did a fresh install for it to not work still. Something is not right as I have 6 rigs all setup the same way i.e security programs, os=win7 x64 and they all run fine. So one rig to just goof all of a sudden makes no sense.
I can check under services but its not running cause I haven't started it due to it won't connect. So even starting the app will not change anything because boinc has to be reattached to projects since the orig has disappeared somehow. |

hm. I tried looking at my logfiles to see if there was any errors but my boinc files are dated between 2008-10. so its won't tell me anything that happened a few days ago.

I just redid the whole instal. This is frustrating so I'll just run a new one and have 2 pc's listed twice.
