confused no communication possible using a proxy server
Hello, I did not find any thread on a first search that describes the problem I have: using BOINC current version, several other projects are running, but WCG was working only on ONE server - but this server also stopped communication to WCG anda now it has several ready taks which cannot be sent back. Any idea where to search / what to do? Any dianostics possible, especially for WCG? - Any helpful suggestions welcome.

Hello AdrianCronauer,
So your server used to run WCG over the proxy server but has recently stopped. Please post relevant extracts of your BOINC Message tab (start and error messages).

I think that BOINC 7.0.25 and proxy problems are a combination that SekeRob knows more about than I. I will do some reading.

"using BOINC current version" is always a puzzle... but the log showing 7.0.25 is the likely answer to the problem. Still not fixed in 7.0.28 unless a copy of a different libcurl is dropped into the BOINC program directory. For that follow the links provided above. Note though that I'm missing the specific "http error zero" in the message log, so it may not be the answer.

If it is, the Fix: Revert to version 6.12.33 or earlier. All what's needed for WCG is 6.10.58 [except those on W8 and latest Mac OS... they need a "latest" version to install properly, at which time the W8 users with the proxy problem will have to do the libcurl copy drop.

P.S. I've dropped a reminder note in the developer alpha mail list... who knows will 7.0.30 have the fix integrated.

Edit: Testing confirms that 7.0.28 has the proxy working libcurl included.
