Re: How much money we donate?

My electricity is locked in at 6.5Cents Canadian per kw.
I did rough estimate, my I7 930 is $137 a year,
my I7 2500K is about $44 a year and gets much more points,
maybe 5 to 10K?
Unless I run games and get the GTX 670 humming... but that's not crunching (yet :)
So I calculate the 2500K, 2600K and the new 3770K will cost just slightly more than the 930 alone. (In electricity).
I used 780 KW last month, want to get down to 500. So the 930
will have to go.
will sell it and use the money to pay for new video card for crunching
when that comes on line.

Re: How much money we donate?

It is proof that IBM could produce all the results of WCG at a far lower cost(both hardware and energy) than even only the members that are active.

Since IBM is a business, they also get a tax write off too, which makes it even cheaper to do. wink
