Hello keithhenry. I read on Maggi's thread that you are a prostate cancer survivor. I am too.

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 57 smilesmile

Hi Mike. There's a lot of us here. It has been a rather interesting experience to say the least. It was an unusual change in my PSA in a routine physical that lead to finding my cancer. I never would have known otherwise as there were no symptoms. My urologist really made the point for early detection when he described the strategy as curing it when it's localized and containing it when it's not.

Hope all the periodic post tests show you are cured.

Cheers

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 57 smilesmile

Yes, I'll be doing PSA tests every three months for the next two years. The intent is to get a zero PSA each time. While that's certainly not guaranteed, the biopsy said it was localized as did the CT scan and the full-body bone scan. The pathologist report from the surgery had clean margins as well. So, we all feel confident it's all gone for good. No guarantees of course but lots of reasons to be optimistic. The %$^# catheter was the only really bad part. I hated the thing the whole two weeks I was stuck with it (and glad I was still out when they put it in - dang thing was huge!). Once I'm back to normal bladder control and full sexual function returns, it will be back to the same old same old. biggrin With as well as this has turned out, I need to start buying some lottery tickets! laughing

Food for thought--for some--
I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations.
