Re: Team SEYCHELLES

Hmmm, speaking of "Coconaut Horsepower Rules", has this been mentioned?

The liquid inside young coconuts can be used as substitute for blood plasma.

That is actually true. Amazing! And I have a source for that info. cool

Hi JC, interesting fact 32 and I think Pond Scum mentioned it as well. This is because the liquid is sterile ( in young coconuts ) and contains sugars and lauric acid. Don't try this with the coconuts you find in your local supermarket! They have to be fresh.

The coconut palm is the most productive plant in the world in the number of products and uses made from it. cool Stay Cool.

Re: Team SEYCHELLES

nerd Time for a couple of interesting COCONUT facts before work. nerd

76 Coir (from the malay word kayaru - cord) is a coarse fibre extracted from the husk, the fibrouus outer shell of the COCONUT. The individual fibre cells are narrow and hollow, with thick cell walls made of cellulose.

77 Coir fibre is relatively water-proof and is the only natural fibre resistant to damage by salt water.

78 Total world coir production is 250,000 tonnes. Most is produced in Kerala state in India and from Sri Lanka.

Come back soon for another dose of interesting COCONUT facts brought to you by the COCONAUTS.
