Re: Team SEYCHELLES

Rudi - Tony - do you think we should accept JC's invitation to join teams?

Personally JC's team name puts me off, but the apart from that - no problem. JC wants to change the name anyway (maybe we can negotiate to have the team clled "CocoNAUTS" biggrin biggrin
We should consolidate as efforts to grow through new members is just not working. Aprt from that, we seem to get on well enough with each other.
I realise and acknowledge that we will loose our individuality in the identity we have formed..... but it is the people who are important and not the brands!

Any comments?

Rob, I made this suggestion to JC while you got "unplugged." Personally I do not mind which brand we crunch under, although I have to agree that the current choice of JC's team name would not be one I would choose. Perhaps we should take one word from both teams, say, Team from Andrax and Seychelles from ours. biggrin biggrin

The choice of wether to amalgamate is really your decision as you started the team. I quite like the idea of a team representing a small island, take a look back at some of your earlier posts in this thread. A lot of indivuality is lost in a big team and we can claim to be the only team, with more than one member, that all members regularly post and is a bit unique. The fact that we have only three members has become, if you like, our signature.

My suggestion would be the following; depending on Rudi's views, that we agree in principle to join up with JC. but hold off doing so until the current batch of work is complete, as it is only 7 or 8 weeks away, then start the new work as a combined team. This will give us some time to agree a new team name, design a logo, etc.

Guys.......please read related post in new JTS thread and let me know your thoughts, be they pro or anti smile

Re: Team SEYCHELLES

Hmmm, Crunchers Inc. Great name that would include the mergers of our Teams in new Team recruiting threads.

And yes, to leave no one left behind, we would include stats in recognizing our individual stats! cool

Re: Team SEYCHELLES

Rudi, Tony - It seems as though the BIG picture is slightly different from what I understood earlier on.
The concept is to merge smaller teams into one big team (an Alliance if you may). I donot have a problem with that except for the fact that we (i.e. people and not teams) loose our individuality, so we would need to maintain our individuality through our posting style and sig and not through the team name....

I am going to go for it, as I have sarted a new project that is away from home - which means that I will not have as much "on line time" as previously and need to hit the sack early evry day to get an early start.... 5 hrs sleep is my rythm, and I am finding it difficult to increase my internal processor speed to get more cylcles out of a 24 hr day. crying

Can we agree on a decission date of the 23rd for a move?

Rob, Rudi

I have seen the posting on the DC Forum, this expanded idea seems to have arisen out of some late night discussions that has not been fully thought through. My origional suggestion was to merge with JC and his team. This would have still maintained the small team atmosphere, as we compliment each other quite well. Crunchers Inc (ugh!) is a whole different ball game and I notice that some other people are not happy with the "Bigger Picture". So count me out, for the time being. I respect your decision to close Team Seychelles, due to other comittments. It was fun while it lasted!

Can we agree on a decission date of the 23rd?

I will resign from the team sometime over the weekend before you close it on the 23rd. In the meantime I will have a look at few other teams or think about starting a new one.

Re: Team SEYCHELLES

Likewise...If I wanted a large team I would have stayed with Canada or joined /.

So i'll hand loose or restart the Old Farts team if you are closing this down Rob.

Re: Team SEYCHELLES

We are not going to merge with a large Team. I had erred when vaio offered to change his Team name. I say we keep the "verbal contract" we had.

Besides, One Team Mate voted down to join a large Team. It will not happen.

No disrepect to my friend vaio, I prefer a smaller Team! peace good luck

I agree ... I want a small team that is not into strangling eachother for a few extra points, but a fun, easy going, informal, non-beurocratic, apolitical etc..... just taking things as they come and respecting peoples difference and right to deffer......

I am going to park my "nelsoc" over with JC .... I know I will be able to pop in at the most once a week over the next couple of months, so trying to run a team doesn't make sense..... It has been GREAT fun meeting you and working together.... JC has the same attitude towards crunching (the crunching is more important than the rat race)... so hopefully I will see you there evry now and then Rudi, Tony smile

Tony... what do you have in mind?

Rudi, Looks like the Captain has jumped ship!

As Vice Captain you have the option of sailing the ship to wards even greater glory, perhaps renaming her Team Seychelles II, or scuttling her now and take to the lifeboat.

Either way, I'm raiding the Captain's locker for the Coconut rum.
