Boinc Mass install using WIM and sysprep

Hello everyone,
I am preparing to do my yearly imaging of our fleet.
We have been manually installing the client currently, however now I would like to include the WCG client into my image.

We use windows deployment server to push our images to the clients over the LAN.
My main question is does anyone have tips / tricks / suggestions for deploying the client into an image that will be sysprepped?
My main worry that after imaging the computer name will be changed on first boot, and I wonder how that will affect the WCG client attaching back to the grid.
Thanks

I've never done it myself, but this should work:
http://wcg.wikia.com/wiki/Mass_install_%28disk_image%29

If you want to do remote monitoring/control, you'll also want to:
1. set a known password in gui_rpc_auth.cfg
2. put one more trusted IP addresses in remote_hosts.cfg
3. allow incoming traffic on port 31416 from the trusted IP addresses used in #2

Re: Boinc Mass install using WIM and sysprep

Here's my own recipe:
Working BOINC system
1) Create an AIP of BOINC - to extract the boinc files (boinc folder is what we need)
2) Prepare the ff files:
gui_rpc_auth.cfg - if you want common password
account_www.worldcommunitygrid.org.xml - copy it from a working boinc system
cc_config.xml - custom config
global_prefs_override.xml - custom prefs
3) export the ff registry key from a working system:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Space Sciences Laboratory, U.C. Berkeley\BOINC Setup]
Modify INSTALLDIR, DATADIR and MIGRATIONDIR to ur desired location

Sysprep
4) Copy boinc files from step1 to INSTALLDIR
5) Copy files from step 2 to DATADIR
6) Add the start up cmdline in the registry (CurrentVersion\Run)
7) Add the registry entries from step 3.

Re: Boinc Mass install using WIM and sysprep

Thanks everyone.
My test image/sysprep worked perfectly the first time.
THATS never happened before biggrin

edit: All I had to do was while the reference computer was in audit mode was to install WCG client, copy the account_www.worldcommunitygrid.org.xml to the c:\programdata\boinc directory and then do the sysprep /shutdown

Nice to hear that these things also can go right the first time... sometimes. Good job!
