I'm definitely not an expert, but I really doubt that you can figure out who your wingmen are. They are probably assigned by the WCG application (not sure if the word "validator" would correct here). And I pretty sure that the wingman assignments are done by a grading system (confidence of returning results) that is applied to the devices (not the crunchers) that are currently running. So in a nutshell:
----------------------------------------Is there any way to determine who my Wingman is? No. or do I have multiple wingmen Yes (probably different every time) Here's a thread that I started that might help a little (it contains others links as well): http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,31924_offset CJSL |

In other BOINC projects you can see who your wingmen are for each WU, but not in here. At most you can see which BOINC version they use

Is there any way to determine who my Wingman is? or do I have multiple wingmen... Just curious Thx Kevin Go to your 'results status' list and look at your units, click on one and you will see a line, near the top, that says "Minimum Quorum: 2" or some other number there. Counting yourself as one, in this example you would have one wingman assuming all goes fine for both of you. Some units have a 15 or something in that line, that means there are 15 people all crunching the same unit, and YOU have 14 wingmen!! ![]() ![]() |

Some units have a 15 or something in that line, that means there are 15 people all crunching the same unit, and YOU have 14 wingmen!! In these cases, each 'wingman' is crunching a slightly different work unit and the results are supposed to form a tight cluster. If one unit is far away from yhe others, it does not validate. This is a fast way to cover a large range while still checking for problems. Lawrence |
