Studdering

Hello All,

I have the 32bit BOINC Client installed and had this problem from day one. When the client is ACTIVE I get stuttering and jitters from my sound and video. When the client is off problems go away.

Here are my settings for the client.

amd x6 1100, 16 gb ram, water cooling.

BOINC version 7.0.8

Multi cpu use: 100%
At most use cpu: 30%
Less cpu: 30%

Thanks for your time and attention,

Hello rlocone,

Less cpu: 30%
skgiven is giving good advice. My opinion is that a desktop with water cooling does not need to run 3 seconds on / 7 seconds off to avoid overheating, so let it run 100% of the time and look elsewhere for a problem to solve.
If your system is stuttering, you have some necessary system processes running that BOINC is interfering with. Solve this by reducing the number of cores running BOINC (Multi-cpu use). I expect that if you cut things down to 4/6 cores (67%) and increase your 'Less cpu' up to that, the stuttering will stop. And do set Leave Application in Memory on. You have 16GB which is vastly more than BOINC will use.
