Project bin ran out?

I've been strictly crunching HCC. About an hour ago, my client just picked up a bunch of workunits for other projects. Anyone else seeing this?

Re: Project bin ran out?

I ran into this about the same time, but it seems to have resolved itself now. BOINC kept trying and eventually the queue filled.

Cheers

Re: Project bin ran out?

Yeah, I saw mine start queuing HCC work units again later last night. Looks like the bin is empty again today.

Re: Project bin ran out?

Looks like there are work units available sporadically. Even though I have HCC selected as my only project it seems like 20% of the time I'll pickup something else. It seems to be happening to all my machines and not just limited to a single machine.

Re: Project bin ran out?

I have one older slower machine which I only connect about every three days. It is running HCC exclusively. So far, when it downloads about 40 units at a time, they have all been HCC. Perhaps there is some big users out there who deplete the feeder supply periodically. So far I have been lucky I guess.

Cheers

You must have checked "send other work if no work available for current project". Only problem unchecking this is your rig could run dry if the well is dry.

Re: Project bin ran out?

Or check if the Button "Please opt me in to new projects as they become available2 is activated

Re: Project bin ran out?

Nope, I don't have the "Please opt me in to new projects as they become available" check box checked. It picks a pretty decent mix of older and newer projects, HPF, GFAM, CEP, DSFL, FAAH, and C4CW. I do have the 'Send me other work if there isn't any available for my selected projects' box checked.

I'm pretty sure it's the server running low on work units. I see these types of messages spread throughout my logs

Re: Project bin ran out?

Perhaps one of the techs could chime in. I think there are just periods during the day when the demand for HCC exceeds the capacity of the feeder to refill fast enough.

Cheers

Re: Project bin ran out?

We have resolved this issue. There should not be any further issues obtaining work for hcc1.
