Why do not to make a page server status for WCG? |

The question of why is long passed... it's a question of when. The server status page is on a long list of non-urgent items. Standard BOINC has such a web-page ready, but then WCG website is about 0.0 standard.
Once upon a time there was a website that pulled the server status of WCG and showed uptime statistics in the 99.9% range [which kind of makes it a non-urgent feature]. That site disappeared some years ago. Maybe folk who generate this http://www.esea.dk/esea/boincschedulers.php might want to connect with WCG techs to get us added (if IBM would ever allow). --//-- |

(if IBM would ever allow). --//-- Could you explain (or post a link). WGC techs and CA's do a fantastic job but who determines development priorities and direction? Is there interaction with the senior volunteer members some of whom must have have a wealth of knowledge to contribute? (I'm not criticising, just keen to know and understand.) |

hello Why do not to make a page server status for WCG? Click on the link In SekeRob's reply and you will see lots of charts that will give stats but no actual numbers of units available, just units completed per day, per week, etc. ![]() ![]() |

As SekeRob suggested WCG is now on the list at http://www.esea.dk/esea/boincschedulers.php
----------------------------------------It may be good for present status but there are no stats for up-time. Myself I would have no use for stats if they existed as I only run WCG. Members running multiple projects might find the stats useful. Please note that the list image does not show a date when it was last updated or how often it is updated. ![]() ![]() Join the team The survivors ![]() Bilateral Renal Cell Carcinoma survivor [Edit 1 times, last edit by RCC_Survivor at Mar 29, 2012 8:34:40 PM] |

Server Status -- a number of grids have them, why not at WCG? At a high level, the idea is to reduce the fog-of-crunching. At the lower levels, the idea is to have a facility that answers the question: Is WCG ready? With a Server Status, a grid-maintainer will be made to be more sensitive in maintaining the operational-health of the 'grid-engine' (a.k.a. servers). As I see it, as WCG grows, a Server Status and what it brings to the table -- will be increasingly valuable going forward.

Any news on this?
----------------------------------------It should be somthing of minutes to implement such basic BOINC stuff, not of years. Is there any reason given, why this is not implemented? I can't think of any valid one. And if you look here, you can see a useful page for looking up, what's wrong since when on the projects, derived from that page. |

I would rather have a new project than a server status......I KNOW what the server status is, it sends me a message saying it is not working, give me a new project and do not waste time on non-essentials
