Just curious if anyone else is seeing this, I had a work unit with an estimated run time of 1800 hours show up and of course it started to run high priority. I didn't think much of it, figured it was ust a wierd exception until I noticed the same thing has happened on a second machine that is also running Help Conquer work units. Both are dropping rapidly and I don't expect it will cause any other issues but thought I would ask if this is unique to me?

It's not just you. I reported this in the server upgrade thread as that appears to be where the admins are monitoring closely.

I've been getting those kinds of estimates since 2200 UTC March 8th. The WUs seem to crunch otherwise correctly.

The work units have an estimated task size of 5465937 GFLOPs, which causes the estimated completion time to be as high as it is. Either it was mistakenly put to a batch or HCC is playing dirty to get their WUs done first in people's queues. I'm hoping for the mistake...

I am also seeing this on a few machines, one with a work unit with a 40 day estimate on run time. These work units seem to be coming up to efficiency a bit slower according to boincview.

I just noticed this too. I have lowered my cache size on my machines, because BOINC will soon think that my machine is a lot faster then it is. I hope others have lowered there cache size too, otherwise if WCG fixes this problem, then you have weeks worth of WU in ur cache.

Happened again on C4CW about 20 minutes ago. I have reported it and hope that it will be tracked down over the weekend.

Happened again on C4CW about 20 minutes ago. I have reported it and hope that it will be tracked down over the weekend. Same here, all was looking ok for a day until in the last couple of hours at least two of my hosts now have normal (also just recently downloaded) WUs running in high priority. All C4CW if that helps to narrow down the problem...Lawrence Ralf |
