I've tried to look this up, but didn't succeed in finding conclusive answers. (it has probably been explained numerous times but I just can't find it...)
---------------------------------------- I want to use WCG on a system on which work can be performed according to the following schedule: Mon-fri: from 0:00 until 7:00 and from 18:00 until 0:00 (better said: NOT between 7:00 and 18:00) Weekends: all day Is there any easy way to set up BOINC for this? I guess it shall be done locally, but if possible online would be even better. BOINC will be running 'as a service'. Thanks! ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by depriens at Mar 5, 2012 1:41:31 PM] |

There's a network scenario written up in Start Here with design to only connect during out-of office hours. In your work scheme you enter as default e.g. 18:00-07:00 (yes the pairings are allowed to cross the dateline). For Sat/Sun you set 00:00-00:00.
----------------------------------------Edit: By setting this in local prefs [only place possible], of course any future changes made to the device profile but for the project selections, will be ignored. Long as that's understood all is fine. --//-- [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Mar 5, 2012 1:48:21 PM] |

OK great, I already hoped this would do the trick.
----------------------------------------So just to be sure; if I tick the Monday box and put in 18:00 - 07:00 this is actually valid for the complete Monday and not for Monday night from 18:00 until Tuesday morning 07:00? ![]() |

Keep it simple, the default at top is given the value 18:00-07:00 [Every day between the hours of...], which then applies to all days. For Saturday/Sunday you set the exception. If you'd fill it into Monday, then too (logically), the effect is really 00:00-07:00 + 18:00-24:00. This way you're able to specify 2 time segments during one 24 hour period, as you understood correctly.
