Can anyone provide me with an understanding of the cause of errors like the one below. I've encountered 4 of these today.

There's no prior documentation of this error that I could find on Google. Boot computer and check system event log and security software.
Are you running 100% CPU time or throttled? --//-- |

Using at most 90% of CPU, with TThrottle watching over temperatures. No obvious event messages. I'll reboot later today when it's more convenient. Thanks for the quick response.

Feel there's a potential issue with running both a throttle in BOINC and on top run TThrottle. Let latter do the controlling by setting the ceiling temperature. 90% in BOINC means running 9 seconds, pausing 1, which I think is rather ineffective, certainly from a user experience perspective.

I tend to agree with your throttling comments and will let TThrottle handle it all. On the other hand, it's been running like this for months with no problems like this observed previously.

Previously it had been identified that for some the BOINC throttle caused stuck WU's for DSFL or GFAM and when setting time to 100%, the stuck units did not reoccur. Given that we've got a new version since a few days for both these sciences, it may have found a new way of expression [in the till now unknown 293 exit code].

Coincidence, but previously found http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH37214 mentioning a status code 293.

This error occured because when the task was attempted to be resumed, either because of the BOINC throttle or a manual or task switch suspend/resume from the client, the resume command failed. It could have been blocked by AV or firewall software but not likely since the process was running just suspended. If you continue to see these errors please let us know and we can take a closer look.
Thanks, armstrdj |
