I suspect a problem with an ATI Radeon HD 5900 Series card which I am having replaced.

Have to refer to the techs, similar to the 195 error that's bugging the DSFL application, and still subject of investigation.
The graphics and science app CPU sides were with API 6 separated, to prevent failing graphics to tare down the science app. This way the science can run on systems that are free of graphics capability as well. That said, are you running with the BOINC screensaver enabled? No conflicts between on-board and PCI slotted graphics cards? --//-- |

My screensaver is set to blank. I prefer the BOINC screensaver but I disabled it to rule it out as a cause. No conflicts at this time.

Got the right drivers? Read something in BOINC world about having to uninstall the old drivers before installing new drivers for a different card. How about disabling the use of GPU by BOINC in the cc_config.xml to see if that makes a change? The line to add to the <options> section would be:
<no_gpus>1</no_gpus> Then restart the client. At any case, there are prior reports of "Unable to update graphics data." for DSFL and GFAM, few though, no indication of direct cause. Both these sciences use the same Vina application for the simulations, but all the correlation there is. --//-- |

Thanks for the info. I uninstalled and installed new drivers just prior to this incidence. I'm running c4cw jobs now without problems. I'll be going back to GFAM WUs after I replace the card this afternoon.

I advice an Nvidia card. Much less trouble with them. Personal experience over many years. Nvidia drivers are better.

Replaced the card and installed the latest drivers (AMD Catalyst Software Suite Version 11.11). So far all is well. Thanks for the info about Nividia card.

Refer to item 4-S of the FAQ index for these 2 exit codes. Those are 2 oldies, not specific to any particular science.
