How are points calculated ?

Sorry if this has been asked before... I didn't find anything with a search. I got curious about how the points are being calculated (it's probably a complex answer).....

- Are points calculated the same way for different projects or does each project have it's own algorithm for the calculation?
- How are Claimed Points calculated?
- How are Granted Points calculated, because I notice that ratio Granted Points/CPU Time is not the same for the same project on the same CPU (ex: ratios run between 13.6 - 17.36 points/hr).
- I also noticed that the ratio of points/hr differ between CPUs (different computers): while one CPU has a ratio of 13.6 - 17.36 points/hr another CPU has a ratio of 8.4 - 10.8 points/hr (the later is a older model)

Thanks for any help on the above... dang... why do I have to be so curious?
