A long time user (4.5M points)but not very computer savvy. Now getting screensaver message to reinstall WCG to open on startup. The Install Wizard stops with the message "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable." Browsing: "BOINCmsi file not found." WCG is no longer in my system tray. OS:Windows XP

As suggested, I did select install as a service, but still got the same error messages.

Helping is not easy ;-), but the crux is that somehow your old installer file (boinc.msi) is missing, so the new wont install until it's able to uninstall the old.
Fix 1: Go get the old installer package, whatever version you had and uninstall with that. Fix 2: Fetch Microsoft CleanUp utility, no other brand, and use that to remove the old one from the ''Installed Software" registration. There are several recent threads that provide the links, but to kick you off, here the link for the most recent version BOINC package: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/wcg_boinc_6.10.58_windows_intelx86.exe You only need to change the digits of the version in above, to be able to get your version (32 bit) i.e. change 6.10.58 to maybe 5.10.45 or whatever you had. MS CleanUp (Install and Uninstall Troubleshooter) got rid of the old BOINC. Many thanks!
