Don't know what you're doing to your computer. At any rate, the -148 error has this description:
ERR_EXEC -148 BOINC cannot create a new process. Or BOINC is already running. Only one instance of BOINC can run at any time. Do you have a virtual machine or something that's looking at the same data directory as another client running? Yes, results ending in error will not get credit if that's what you're asking. Another cruncher will have to repeat the work unit calculation. --//-- |

Had to do a system restore to fix a backup problem after which my BOINC Mgr was 6.12.33 (down from 3.12.34) at which point I installed 3.12.34 (x64) again. which appeared to complete without a hitch...guess not.
