Re: "The survivors"

I drank in everyone's honor for years, now I want to overclock.
At least there will be no hangovers.
My curiosity has the best of me.
I want to know how to do it.
That being said, a drink in my honor is a first, thanks, I am humbled.

Re: "The survivors"

I expect to have a Ruby badge in GFAM by morning.
Should have two more Ruby badges in two weeks, DSFL & CEP2.
Should have an Emerald badge in three weeks, C4CW.
My goal is to add Sapphire badges in those four projects, bringing the total to nine Sapphires.

Re: "The survivors"

9 sapphires is my goal too, but it's going to take me a bit longer to get there. It will be a squeaker to see if I can get the badges in HCC and HFCC before they're done.

Re: "The survivors"

When I got my Sapphire in HCC and HFCC I stopped running those projects so others would get the work units.
Are you running just those two projects?
HCC has 50 days of tasks left.
HFCC has 90 days of tasks left.
Do not know how many days of run time you need in each project.
Without knowing that I would run just HCC until it runs out or you get Sapphire, and then run just HFCC.

Re: "The survivors"

Once my PV's are processed for HCMD, I should have a sapphire there. I've moved on to HCC. Shouild take me 3 weeks, and then I will move on to HFCC.

Re: "The survivors"

Got the Ruby badge in GFAM this evening.
The WCG servers changed the project allocation and it took 12 hours longer than expected.

I wish I had more time for WCG.
Just finished updating a web site with a new video, correcting coding errors, adding a landing page, and social networking.
Presently working on a marketing plan for 2012, which is not my area of expertise.
My preference would be to overclock my new build from 4.3 GHz up to its highest stable speed.
Need more time for reading the manuals and overclocking forums.

Re: "The survivors"

I just looked through the results for our new team members that are also new crunchers.
All have earned badges since joining the team.
grumpygrampy joined 10/09/2011 5 badges (1 Silver)
breewillhelp 10/12/2011 2 badges
Two-Boxers 10/22/2011 2 badges
Burno 10/26/2011 4 badges
houal 11/25/2011 1 badge
That is a total of 14 Bronze and 1 Silver earned by 5 new crunchers.
Very good!

I haven't forgotten about the rest of the team members but you are established
and I don't know what badges were earned since joining the team.

Having joined in 2007 I know that it takes time to accumulate badges.
The newer muli-core CPUs with hyper-threading are making short work of it.
Most of my badges were acquired with Pentium CPUs, but within the last 1-1.5 years I have retired those PCs except for one P4 running at 2.4.
Have added two AMD quad cores running at 2.4 and 2.8, and one Intel i7-2700K running presently at 4.3.

Good luck to everyone in the New Year and best wishes to you and yours.

Ever wonder what the titles "Senior Cruncher" , "Advanced Cruncher", etc in members signature mean?

Here's the skinny:

Re: "The survivors"

Fellow survivors, it's looking bad for my mom. She has tall cell variant papillary thyroid carcinoma, which has become resistant to radioactive iodine treatment. She has had two recurrences in the lymph nodes in her neck, and the only treatment seems to be surgery at this point. I am still hoping and praying that she will continue to be a survivor. Your well wishes (and prayers if you are so inclined) would be greatly appreciated.
