Re: Drug Search for Leishmaniasis Project Recognition Thread

i think, mclaver, that at 505 flops, you have the record for daily WU. That's great! BTW, if you'd like to divulge the number, I'd be interested in how many computers/cores you have running.

Here us what I am running. These are all machines that I have built myself from parts, then when complete, they run 24x7 on WCG as a donation.

You should see my electric bill!!!!!

Have you considered solar panels to help reduce your electric bill? Or even to run MORE machines? With Sungevity, you can provide a down payment to reduce your payments to Sungevity even more. Depending on your location, and trees or other things that may block the sun, you can get a lot of use of the sun. My panels are installed but they won't be active until PG&E changes the meter to allow the energy provided to go into the grid.

I actually asked some people about solar energy at the State Fair last Friday. I might get an estimate to see what the payback would be. I am a little concerned that the part of my roof that has a southern exposure is kind of small, which also my limit my options.

Actually I started using UBUNTU because I got tired of paying Microsoft. I really know nothing about Linux, but I know enough to install UBUNTU and have learned the commands to install BOINC. The Linuix machines do nothing else but run WCG since I do not know how to do anything else on them :)

I have a mix of AMD and Intel machines, and a mix of various versions of Windows and Linux

An impressive array and I do not envy your electric bill, I know how bad mine is with the machines I have. smile

Cheers
