OK I have just installed BOINC 6.12.33. Not my first preference but it works.

Mont, just so happened to have me Linux Ubuntu-Natty offered 6.12.33 from the BOINC PPA as maintained by Debian as replacement to 6.10.59, so I'll try when the CEP2s are finished. Was really waiting for the 6.12.34 that has a last fix [we hope].
Am pretty sure there was a post by skgiven to say that you needed to uninstall the GPU drivers. In your case that would have been the drivers of the ATI. I've added a link in the Start Here FAQ index to an article of the varies ''connecting to localhost" problems, where the GPU issue is also mentioned: See http://boincfaq.mundayweb.com/index.php?language=1&view=461 . Client 6.12 is supposed to handle ATI cards, so that upgrade may have given it the push to resume operation. If things work, we'll let it rest Happy crunching --//-- |
