"Switch between applications every" Default value to 7000 like you said and I am opted in.  Hi JC, hi anhhai, what does that mean? Right now, I am not sure. I have *no* work units and everything 'stopped' almost 12 hours ago. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!! At first, I saw Beta units being uploaded. Then I did something stupid. After awhile I 'flushed' the FAH work units in hopes of immediately starting my Beta. Nothing. Then I did the most stupid thing: I hit the 'detach' button in my Boinc Client (or was it was it 'reset'?). Raced back to My Grid here and tried to make sure that the settings were ok and looked again at my projects. Started to wonder why there wasn't a 're-attach' button or anything to get me out of this horror chamber. I can tell you that this Boinc software could be /should be much better; yet I will not rail against (yet) the software or the development. Fact is, I messed up trying to do simply get Betas. There should have been a 'fail-safe' solution formthis distributive computing open source Boinc. software. Anyway, I need urgent help yet ahain. In the BOINC manager, click the Tools tab. Then go through the procedure there to attach to World Community Grid. After selecting WCG, when asked, indicate that you are an existing user, and then enter your WCG user id and password. That should get you reattached!

After selecting WCG, when asked, indicate that you are an existing user, and then enter your WCG user id and password. That should get you reattached! I did that last night ... You are already attached to this project. Please choose a different project. Then I tried to attach to Account manager and got this: Account manager temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. The 25% is ignored long as ''run based on preferences'' is not selected. 7000 minutes switch time to get tasks that have a deadline of 5760 or less... not sure if WCG would then send that Beta / Repair work... depends also on the cache size. For sure empirically, 4321 minutes is enough to get anything < 5760 deadline to rush through. With a 1 day cache the calculation is kind of cache size (including remaining run time on active tasks) +switch time, though behavior between client versions seems to have been changing. --//-- |
