I do need help as I have two machine, I was in use and why my numbers are down about 25K and a new 6 core that I can not seem to boot and give me the error can not find bootmgr? Tried ideas on the web and have been really busy so they are still out of commission? Any ideas? Things to checK:- Does the BIOS screen show the boot device? If so, the OS may be corrupted. - If BIOS does not show the boot device, check for good power and signal connections. It may help to disconnect and reconnect the cables. - Check if the cables are nicked or sharply bent. - You can try using a different power connector. - Speaking of power, check if there are any blinking lights on the power supply. - If the connections are good, see if you can tell if the disk is spinning. There should be a slight vibration and you can probably hear the heads un-park when the drive spins up. If not, it may be new drive time. - If you have more than one HDD in the machine, try only connecting the boot drive. - If your BIOS has any diagnostics it can run against the hardware, try it. Maybe one of the above will lead to your problem. Don't give your system two aspirin and call it in the morning. I guarantee that will not work.- D |

Tried ideas on the web and have been really busy so they are still out of commission? Any ideas? What OS are you running. If you have the install disk boot to it and run a repair install. This is one reason I make a recovery disk and an image for each machine. If problems arise I can boot to the recovery disk and repair or re image as needed. The recovery and image tools in Win 7 work well. You can use the free version of Macrium Reflect to make an image and a recovery disk for other OSs.
