In the first of what will hopefully be several readjustments in the Results rankings both IBM Austin(#88) and UK(#89) have gained a place at the expense of ESU who drop to #90.
----------------------------------------IBM Austin are now only 99 results ahead and so should succumb in the next 24 hours ![]() |

I noticed this article on the BBC website a couple of weeks ago:

Having proofed the spreadsheet that I set up to monitor competitor performance I'm a little more confident in my predictions for improvement in our rankings!
---------------------------------------- RunTime BRASIL - BRAZIL@GRID will overtake us in 6 days (if they continue to host the Base Camp visitors). HKU & Fundación Proacceso continue as medium term threats. We continue to keep pace with Gillboskolorna #89 without closing on them. We are however making steady progress against 5 out of the 6 teams immediately above them. Points Romania #89 continue a 25 day target whilst the threat from HTCMania is currently at 58 days. Results As forecast the UK team moved to #88 overnight ahead of IBM Austin Immediately above us at #87 HTCMania are widening the gap but IBM Web Innovators & Friends #86 are a 29 day target and SWARH #85 (who ceased crunching in 2011) are a 16 day target. |

Looking at individual members of the UK team's performance I can report that 6 members are currently showing significantly improved (>1.0) RunTime per Calender Day (RTpCD) in June compared with May:
----------------------------------------
3 members have decreased their average RTpCD in June to date: Thargor & themoonscrescent for reasons explained earlier in the thread. gibbcorp is averaging 0.77 in June against 10.68 in May and 39.73 in April possibly having allocated resources to non-WGC projects. All contributions, large or small, are gratefully acknowledgement on behalf of the UK team and WGC generally. ![]() |

Unfortunately, I've also had to scale back the 8-thread Xeon VM back a bit, as its resources are needed for development work by other people in work.
----------------------------------------So, it's currently stopped between 6am and 6pm, weekdays, but churning away at full speed at all other times. However, I am going to start the build of the new "beast" of a machine, this weekend, by picking up the case and PSU and possibly the RAM - the motherboard is out of stock, so will buy that and the CPU next month - additionally, having paid for next year's car insurance earlier in the week, finances are a little shorter than usual, hence not buying it all in one go! ![]() |
