What unused systems do you have lying about?
In a state of disrepair, or just not hooked up, ... and Why? |

*) Zilog Z80, 8bit DOS, working ;)
P-II, 16bit? Win98, mainboard dead AMD64 single core, 32bit Win XP, mainboard dead *) upgrading another 63,75 MB RAM, designing a network interface + an 8 bit emulation for wcg applications, the cpu couldn't quite finish within deadline: a HCMD2 task would take at least 136 days. :) |

I must have at least a dozen or more. everything from a 10 meg, 4.77mhz IBM XT ( still works) 386 (still works), 486 (still works), Pentium 166, Pentium Pro, Pentium II, Pentium III, and Pentium IV. A bunch of these have various things burned out and have been cannibalized for parts. One of these days I will junk out all the non working items. Not sure why I even keep them.
----------------------------------------Cheers

- 486DX-50 (not DX2-50!): no idea if it still works.
- Gateway 2000 P-166: no idea if it still works. - Dell P-II 400: 767 results returned in 250 days (some with Windows 98, some with Ubuntu 8.04), it should still work, but not worth the electricity. - Dell P-IV 1.5: 1907 results returned in almost 2 years, but it started to shut down a couple of seconds after turning it on, I couldn't figure what was wrong, memory? MoBo? CPU? PSU? but I won't bother anyway, same reason as the P-II. - MSI Wind netbook: perfectly functional, 789 results returned in 200 days, but now I decided not to use it for BOINC. |

Intel Pent D 3.0GHz. A real energy pig, and its on a board with an AGP slot and no PCIE.
A Q8300, board failed and don't have another. A dual socket 771 system, needs 2 PSU's! A few other old systems (not worth much in terms of performance and I don't have the space or want to pay to run them). |
