I hope not!
There is a saying, If you can afford to buy the car, you can afford to run it. I think the same applies to the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) - they built it, let them run it. We are already being forced to pay for it via tax, without any say in the matter. I don't want to be paying for it and doing their research. |

There has been a project on BOINC software called LHC@home. It was never very active and went pretty much dormant when the LHC started up.
----------------------------------------But now the project is being given a new birth. Dave Anderson put up some videos from Asioa@home on the BOINC News forum. One of the videos is a discussion of the newly alive project. See Dave's post Asia@home Hey - when I previewed this post, I saw that I had crossed 4,000,000 BOINC credits!! Yippee for me. |

The last I had read, the majority of the data was being exclusively sent to the Grid. LHC@Home was lucky to get what they have so far. (Very little that is) So to answer your question, don't hold your breath on anyone coming to WCG asking for help on this anytime soon.

Crunching LHC data is not anywhere near WCG's mission - why we're here - , nor can it be thought of them lacking computing power and funding to run it themselves, which as noted is what they do.

LHC has a new BOINC project called Test4Theory@Home. You can see it here: Test4Theory@Home . But you need VirtualBox for computing.
