Re: Help Fight Childhood Cancer - No more new work units

3 months it is "per target"

I don't know about anyone else but I am planning on doing some upgrading in the near future.

We will see about that 3 month number.

I figure it will be more around 2 months... i figure more machines running it + more powerful machines.... this is also assuming no other projects start up before this one does....

Re: Help Fight Childhood Cancer - No more new work units

Seippel, will you move HFCC temporarily to the "intermittent" section when done [same as the last intermission]?

SekeRob,

Yes, thanks for pointing that out - this has been updated to "intermittent" on the website now to reflect its new status.

Seippel

Well, I guess I should update my profiles.

Re: Help Fight Childhood Cancer - No more new work units

You won't have to (unkess you only had HFCC selected, and the "if there is no work for..." is not... soon as work returns, science marked intermittent or active, your client(s) will start picking them up automatically. It's the weighting WCG controls, that determines how many you get of the 3rd round.

Thanks for helping at WCG.

Edit:

Mathon, all of your assumptions are kind of not valid. The next bigger machine updating would be the next school year and X-mas... new projects will arrive, but that get's partly absorbed again by the cyclical growth... so I firmly stick to ~3 months as was the mean for the last 3 Targets.

Re: Help Fight Childhood Cancer - No more new work units

You also have to remember that numerous crunchers will no longer crunch this project. Some have reach the milestone they intended, and have moved on to other projects. I can easily see it take 4+ months to crunch two new targets.

Re: Help Fight Childhood Cancer - No more new work units

But, there again - I originally stopped at Emerald, and now, depending on how many new targets there are, may push my 4 cores onto Sapphire...

Re: Help Fight Childhood Cancer - No more new work units

365 days / 3.75 (4 core efficiency) = ~100 days. 2 Targets [minimum expected] in full supply is 180 days, so go for it.

PS, and don't be shy to cache up near the end if need be... 7 days cache is 28 days worth of contribution.

Re: Help Fight Childhood Cancer - No more new work units

Yesterday, May 15, just 1 task validated for HFCC. This is 19 days after the "All New 'sbeen send'.

Crunching on, on something else at WCG :O)

You beat me to it ;) That was the last outstanding task for HFCC so there are no more HFCC work units currently being crunched.

Re: Help Fight Childhood Cancer - No more new work units

With all HFCC work currently finished how much server space has been freed up? Dose it make make any difference to the over all server speed for other projects? I will be here to help when the next 3 targets need processing
