I would like to report a possible inconsistence (in my humble opinion) in HFCC project, that appear be wrong, related to a specific WU that was downloaded by one of my machines.
----------------------------------------Take a look at the workunit status log: Project Name: Help Fight Childhood Cancer Created: 02/04/11 Name: HFCC_L4_02048726_L4_0001 Minimum Quorum: 1 Replication: 2 Result Name App Version Number Status Sent Time Time Due / Return Time CPU Time (hours) Claimed/ Granted BOINC Credit HFCC_ L4_ 02048726_ L4_ 0001_ 2-- 640 Valid 08/04/11 08:50:26 09/04/11 03:21:44 5.78 91.8 / 106.5 HFCC_ L4_ 02048726_ L4_ 0001_ 1-- 640 Too Late 04/04/11 08:46:33 10/04/11 18:34:18 32.65 152.9 / 0.0 Mine HFCC_ L4_ 02048726_ L4_ 0001_ 0-- 640 Valid 03/04/11 16:32:12 04/04/11 07:37:23 5.83 121.1 / 106.5 Fisrt, this WU (in bold above) ran in 32.65 horus to be finished when all others HFCC WU's procvessed by this same machine normally are finished between 12-14 horus (is a slow Atom machine). Second, the WCG servers send a new replica (in a replication quorum of 2), just around 5 days after the first one be downloaded. I guess that the normal is it happens just after around 10 days from the first downloaded in the replication quorum... Third, when mine HFCC WU mentioned was returned to WCG servers, after around 6 days, it was considered in Too Late status, and I guess that the right time to be in this status would be just after 10 days... I estimatde that due the mentioned new replica be returned finished before mine one by 2 days of antecipation, it automatically provoqued the anormal (my opinion) status in mine WU, once the WCG system is programed to perform in this way for late WU's (after the normal programed time of return...) My point is, it really was a late WU for WCG or something happens ? If yes (late WU), just don't lost time on that... If no, I expected that some high priority criteria would be actioned in the BOINC agent to process this WU before others, but it don't what happened. Anyway, if aplicable, I would like to read a technical insight about it, and the correction in the system if possible. Thank you in advance. Best regards.

The minimum quorum was 1.
----------------------------------------The 1st result was returned within 1 day, but must have been 'Inconclusive'. That's why you got your task to verify that, but that task treated as a resend and therefore with a due date of 4 days in stead of 10 days. You didn't return within 4 days, so a new resend was distributed. This 2nd resend returned before you, so you was Too late. |

In addition to what Crystal Pellet said, since HFCC WUs typically were running for a much shorter time on your machine, the BOINC agent would have underestimated the completion time for this one. That's probably why this WU didn't get put into high priority.
----------------------------------------How frustrating to have your machine put in 32 hrs on this for nothing! |

Thank you Crystal and kateiacy.
----------------------------------------In fact isn't usual I lost WU's due anything, so it was uncomfortable. Make sense Crystal explanation, but anyway was a strange sequence for me. For sure it was very frustating ! Best regards !
