Problem Installing XP

Hello

I am trying to install the client on an XP machine that satisfies all the requirements. However, whenever I run the download, it says Error: Cannot initiate installation. This is not isolated to one computer, as I tried it on another one.

Any thoughts?

Re: Problem Installing XP

Just a random stab at it here, I vaguely remember having installation problems in XP before. Go to Microsoft and download the latest installer, (.msi something) I'm betting this will fix your issues.

Some time after XP, they changed the way Windows programs are installed and older XP installers simply stopped working.

Re: Problem Installing XP

My guess is that you downloaded Boinc but the download did not complete correctly. I suggest you download Boinc again.

Have a look at the expected file size (7.62MB) and the actual file size after you download it.

Re: Problem Installing XP

I see WCG is now at 6.10.58. Might explain the recent move to 6.10.60 at Berkeley.
