I haven't seen any mention of this lately, and was wondering if it was ever going to be possible?
At least those with identical names belonging to the same member? The merged device IDs wouldn't need to be purged from the database... just zero their totals after merging so if they get reactivated somehow the old amounts cannot be added in again. Or would that screw with incremental backups? |

Hello ZoSo,
Definitely not on this year's schedule and suspect that next year will be busy with new projects and GPU. Merge Devices will require a big update of the back end BOINC server code to allow full use of BAM (BOINC Account Manager) and Merge Devices. It is intended sometime this decade but not soon -- at least in my quasi-ignorant opinion. It is just a faint nagging irritation. One of quite a number of faint irritations. sigh . . . . Lawrence |

Too bad... I was hoping for a magic wand to clean up my device statistics...
Due to re-images, upgrades, and *ahem* configuration issues... 1 device became 3 devices. Ahh well... Thanks for the information. ![]() |
