Discrete Installation

Can the BOINC client be installed as a service? I'd like to install it on a machine where there is no indication it is installed... sort of a covert installation.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Discrete Installation

Motif Operandi?

Yes, you can install in Protected Application Execution (Service), but you will need to read the instructions, and being made aware that you cannot install on a machine you are NOT the owner of nor have the permission of the owner to install BOINC on.

How: Uninstall and Reinstall and follow the screenshots in item 4 of the FAQ: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,28971

After, you can tell the BOINC Manager Interface to load or not on sign-in under options, if it still does after "the procedure".

Let us know and edit opening post title to insert [RESOLVED] when you have succeeded.
