Significant troubles with DDDT2

Hi,
I was business traveling during the last 3 days, and, for the first time within 4 years, I discovered a bad situation by coming back.
The both Q6600 and Q9450 hosts - running Win XP Pro - came in standby because of several errored WUs. I get known a new kind of error message, I did never saw before:
2011-03-02 19:51:42	World Community Grid	[error] garbage_collect(); still have active task for acked result ts01_a476_pqb003_1; state 9
2011-03-02 19:51:42 World Community Grid [error] garbage_collect(); still have active task for acked result ts01_a478_pqa005_0; state 9
2011-03-02 19:51:42 World Community Grid [error] garbage_collect(); still have active task for acked result ts01_a478_pqa003_1; state 9
2011-03-02 19:51:45 World Community Grid [error] garbage_collect(); still have active task for acked result ts01_a476_pqb003_1; state 6
2011-03-02 19:51:45 World Community Grid [error] garbage_collect(); still have active task for acked result ts01_a478_pqa005_0; state 6
2011-03-02 19:51:45 World Community Grid [error] garbage_collect(); still have active task for acked result ts01_a478_pqa003_1; state 6

It seems that this cause a lot of errored WUs so far that the daily quota of the hosts has been reached.
Already during the last two days, I noticed that many pages of errored results have been produced. It is really unusual for WCG projects.
It seems that DDDT2 does still experienced stability and reliability problems.
Cheers,
Yves

Re: Significant troubles with DDDT2

Hi KerSamson,

Propose you do on both clients a "Project Reset". There was a new signing key issue which for some cause their whole client cache to go bad. The reset will pull new science copies of version 6.40 with the new key.

Sowwy, and no it's not a problem of DDDT2.

edit:

PS, if your hosts don't get at least one result to compute write back and the techs will reset the quota.

Re: Significant troubles with DDDT2

Hi Sekerob,
the new signing key has been installed correctly. I don't think that it was the problem cause. At the same time, three other hosts worked correctly, installed the new signing key, sent back results without any problem.
Only the both mentioned hosts experienced problem and I don't think that the new signing key cause the garbage collection issue.
Thank you for the answer,
Yves

Re: Significant troubles with DDDT2

Suggest to review the actual errors on the Result Status page. The garbage collect is a client_state.xml cleanup routine after things got messed up, removing traces of results that are no longer on the client, per the server. Per the cc_config.xml it would require the <state_debug> flag to have these printed in the message log, but doubt you did. Anyway, too coincidental, propose you just let this "first time in four years" pass, and do a reset if problems persist, to let the affected hosts reshuffle their feathers. It certainly appears to be rare to the WCG forum history, mentioned last in 2008 when researching it then: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/...ead,19382_offset,0#159161

Client version? Security settings?

Hi Sekerob,
boinc 6.10.58
No change by firewall nor by the antivirus setting.
Maybe you are right with the new signing key ! ...
After reboot, the systems are running properly; strange ...
Cheers,
Yves
