Start Here FAQs: Update Change Log

The Start Here FAQ index, stickied at top of all forums, has with each WCG maintained item a revision date, but that won't be seen unless visiting the index, so here a change log for those that like to stay abreast.

Today, added an item and modified an FAQ regarding the Ubuntu installation of BOINC via the Synaptic Package Manager. Just discovered that there is a 3rd part [metapackage] that made BOINC to start running immediately upon installation... rather cool.

PS, Synaptic is smart enough to offer the appropriate client bit size, so in this instance it is the 64 bit version.

shock Re: Start Here FAQs: Update Change Log

Some verbiage was added to the When there are internet bandwidth/usage concerns for one or more clients vis a vis a present discussion on ISPs limiting traffic, specific, general, parts of day. BOINC can be set to handle that, to include limiting /budgeting the amount of traffic for a specifiable unit of time.
